Hey, as long as we're breaking two records here, what do people think about branching out a bit more?
Here's some other fire related records:
highest flame - a height of 3 m (9.8 ft) Nov 2001.
Fire breather - flame distance; 9.4m / 31ft on Oct 29, 1986.
Fire eating - most torches extinguished in one minute : 36 from a rack of 40
I'm pretty confident that I can break the eating record, but we'd need some kind of measuring device and a special camera rig to do the other two.

Longest flame from the mouth to the very top of the flame, no matter how long it takes. -

Let me know if I can help you construct a proper "measuring stick" playa-side.
I'm fairly decent with sustaining a flame as well.

Mon, June 25, 2007 - 3:55 PMI've been known to blast well above a 40' building roof (as evidenced by the people freaking out on the other side) so, yeah, i think this is an easy mark, too. The real problem is getting the rig for verification set up.
I imagined a 50' trellus, with a torch mounted at 6' or so and the gradients starting there. The other issue was filming the top of the blast, which would require a rig similar to the one we had last year.
Such a setup could measure both the 'tallest flame' and the 'highest flame" in one shot. I'm also fairly certain that the Shiva vista folks would love to have something like that set up near the stage for regular, unofficial attempts. -
